Bar Soap!

Home Storage (year supply) can be pretty!

I took all my boxed soaps off my storage shelf and put them on display!
I will be adding it to my master bath.
I use crocheted "soap socks" I make for my shower.
No more shower gel for me!
I love that I have gone back to using bar soap again.

I have all my supplies to start making my own soap too!
I love the gentleness and smell of them.
I bought the large glass container at Hobby Lobby.
It's rather large and holds a years supply!

Do you use bar soap or make it?

First Time Crocheting Baby Blankets!

This is my very first time crocheting
baby blankets!

I have crocheted dishcloths for years and
my sister Linda & friend Bonnie said I could use the same
pattern for a baby blanket!
I bought a BIG crochet hook and some soft baby yarn and went to town!
I am addicted!
I made 2 in 2 days just in a few hours.
They are a great size for a lap quilt too,
so I have only just begun!
It's so fun when you try something new!
These already have names on them and more blankets/names to go!

Have a great day creating!

Grandma's Chickens!

Grandson Asher loves coming to Grandma's and visiting the chickens!
He loves them and they are relaxed around him.
They don't mind even being pet while laying!
Daisy had laid her egg and she let Asher retrieve the egg right under her!
Sweet Asher.
Asher was able to take fresh eggs home with him for his mama to bake cookies!
Come back Asher real soon!
Grandma & the Chickens love you!

Easy Tube Pillowcase!

I have been wanting to make these
Tube Pillowcases
for some time now, and finally did it!

For years at Christmas I sew pillowcases for my grandchildren.
This year I have 14 to sew for!

I have always made the regular pillowcases
but this year I wanted to add layers!

You will have to look at the video tutorial
to see the miracle that happens when creating them!
You roll up the fabric a certain way,
sew across the top, unfold the tube and there you have it!
To finish it off you sew up the sides!
I love making them! 1 done, 13 to go!
My craftroom is buzzing!

Have a wonderful day now!

Chicken Treat Center!

I have in the corner of my family room a
"chicken treat center"!

Early each morning as dawn is breaking you will
find me here gathering a morning treat for my sweet hens.

I made the chicken scratch myself!
Recipe below.
I bought the containers at a local antique shop.
This vendor takes vintage parts and makes wooden lids!
So clever and I love them!
I keep the chicken scratch and first~aid supplies in them.
The table is a old farm "bin" table with big drawers underneath
that use to hold flour & sugar.
I have more chicken supplies in the drawers.
This is the healthy scratch I make:

I buy everything at WinCo except for the dried mealworms.
I buy a those at Kahoots, a feed store.

I take a clear vegetable bag and fill each 1/2 full of:

*wild bird seed
*raw black oil sunflower seeds
*raw shelled sunflower seeds, no salt
*couple big handfuls of oats
& large bag of dried mealworms.
They love it!

Have a wonderful day!
