A Pretty Brooch Magnet!

I received a sweet gift in the mail from dear friend Darla J. We grew up in the same hometown and connected up recently through my darling sister-in-law Nancy!
Darla makes the most beautiful magnets out of vintage jewelry & buttons. This piece is a brooch and the base of it is a button. It is large and so pretty!
Sweet flower embellishment on the box.
Such pretty packaging!
(I used the  "vintage photo" editing with the photos.)
Endearing note.
It's all in the details!
Look at that bling!
Thank you Darla! You made my day!

This & That!

Posting just a few little things around the house!
Last week I painted this cheese server with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint "Provence". I love this color so much, I will be using it as an accent in other projects!
*I made the little green leaf when I was 5 yrs. old!
I am thinking the hutch doors & drawers would look beautiful painted Provence!
Matches this vintage sailboat dish too!
Added a little nest under a cloche.
This is some of my pretty glass paperweights I have collected over the years.
I forgot to show you the FAMILY plaque (twin head board!) hung up. Love it! It is in my dining room.
I took the chicken eggs out of the pink drawer and now have it on my kitchen counter filled with vintage plates & silver...
and added some darling farm girl kitchen towels hanging on my stove!
Okay, one more silly thing! I used pink bar soap "Zote" in making laundry soap today! I love making laundry soap as most of you know!
Hubby just walked in and said "did you mop the floors today?" No, why? "Because it smells like it!" Nope, just made laundry soap! It always smells so fresh and clean! :)
Just keeping busy!
Have a wonderful day darl'ins!
PS...a little shout out to Darla & Patti! What a wonderful treat to meet you!

Cucumber, Tomato & Onion Salad!

Paula Deen's Recipe
Aunt Peggy's Cucumber, Tomato & Onion Salad

Servings: 4 to 6 servings
Prep Time: 15 min
Difficulty: Easy

1 pound cucumbers (about 2 cucumbers), peeled and thinly sliced

1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 Vidalia onion, very thinly sliced ~ I actually prefer red onion!
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

In a large serving bowl, toss together the cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, onion, parsley, vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper, to taste. Let the salad stand for 10 minutes before serving.
It's so good and refreshing!
We are having Spring weather here in California!

Gracie & Flossie ~ 1 Year Old!

My sweet little hens, Gracie & Flossie have bought such joy into my life! It is so fun to be a keeper of hens. I love gathering their sweet eggs each day. They just keep on giving!
Many have asked how many eggs does a chicken lay in a day, the answer is 1. It doesn't take long tho to make a nice dozen to give as a gift! This dozen went to one of my daughters.
Here is a recent picture of the girls.
The girls are 1 year old this week!
A Barred Rock & a New Hampshire Red.
Large to extra large brown eggs.
I love baking with fresh eggs!
My hubby loves cooking up a nice breakfast using them!
How do you like your eggs?
I like mine scrabbled with some cheese and I always add some Cholula (mild hot sauce)!
Have a wonderful day!
