On Saturday I went to a wonderful boutique called "An Affaire at the Barn" by Pikin' Chixs in Menifee, CA. What fun! I hope to be a vender there in February! It was held in a beautiful huge old barn filled with talented crafters.
Sharon did a wonderful job pulling this "Affarie" together!

There is where I found my new love, Chalk Paint by Annie Solan!
A darling So. CA Stockist Andrea Young of Chalk Paint showed me that I cannot live without it (she didn't say that)! She is my new best friend! YOU CAN BUY CHALK PAINT FROM HER. (click on Andrea's name).
I learned that you DO NOT have to prime or prepare, just clean your piece of furniture and start painting! My kind of thing, EASY! After you paint, you put Soft Wax on it, then buff it to a nice sheen. I am hooked.

I bought this wall adornment at the Barn!
It is made out of a old headboard. It is large and very heavy. It is 5 feet x 2 1/2 feet. It will go on my dining room wall. I will take a pic of it when hubby hangs it this week!
It is painted with Chalk Paint! :0

Oh how I wish I had known about this "affaire" as I was a fishing widow all weekend long! I could have zipped on down to Menifee in a heart beat. I have been SO wanting to try this paint! Where can I get some?
I am dying to try some chalk paint. It's on my list of things to get soon. I'm going to use it on the mismatched furniture in our bedroom.

Oh no...now I need to find some of that glorious stuff! Just about to strip a 100-year-old pantry cupboard I got at a yard sale...that would be perfect!
Hope you're having a beautiful fall day, my friend!

Oh, I really must try this paint! Everyone is talking about it. Being a retired painting contractor, makes it hard not to prime everything...but I love not having to do that....come on chalk paint!!

You and your blog provide me with the best, most creative ideas ever! Thank you for this one and all the ones I receive here...except the "buttermilk pie" recipe. That was not a good thing for me to receive here. I can't wait to try the recipe and yet, part of me thinks I should hide the recipe:)
Happy day!
