My First Peonies

Believe it or not, I have never had Peonies!
I have always admired them and loved their beauty.
They remind my family of a very special person whom we love dearly, Roscoe.

For my birthday a couple weeks ago, daughter Heidi gave me some!
I did not know I was in for an ever~changing treat!

Each day from tight buds, the peonies got bigger and bigger.
From long stems to short stems, from vase to vase, to place to place.
What an absolute treat to witness!

I am so grateful I have these pictures to treasure for years to come!
I am in love with PEONIES!

They are one of my two favorite flowers! English roses are the other. I love how they look on your mantle. So glad you got to experience them! I planted some corms this year. Fingers crossed that they take! One has leaves (at ground level) and the other is MIA.

They are my FAVORITE FLOWER! I have 6 bushes and will be getting more!!
Nice photos of the ones you received.

Your peonies are beautiful. We have two peony plants, but the flowers are so full of ants I never cut them and bring them in the house. Don't they smell fabulous too?

They are beautiful Maryjane! What a sweet daughter you have! I know you must be enjoying these pretties.
I loved seeing your hen in the laying basket------but I LOVE that darling apron she had on. I'm sure you must have made it. Too cute!

Maryjane, I am glad you found my blog-it seems we do have a lot in common. I look forward to catching up on your old posts. The pretty peonies remind me of my mother and I love you tip for steaming eggs!

I have never grown Peonies but think they are the most beautiful of all flowers. I don't think I've ever heard. Do they smell as good as they look? Probably to much to ask for such a gorgeous bloom.
