SNOW in Southern California!

We have lived here for 9 years and
it has never snowed!
It snowed today from 11pm to 5am!
Two little rose buds on this bush!
We had so much fun!
Now those of you who have snow might not
understand this but …
We were up all night playing in it with our kids and grandchildren!

We could hear other families playing in it throughout our neighborhood!!!
Talking to neighbors and making snowmen on the front lawn at 3:45am was a hoot!
Hubby & I went to bed at 5:30am after they all went home!
Yes, this is an unusual snow blast that hit our area.
Our palm trees could not hold all the snow
and broke, which made me sad.
We lost lots of big branches off other trees too.
It surly has been a winter wonderland and
the snow has stayed all day!
Join us for a swim anyone?!
We have been giddy about it all day!
It has been so cold I am sure we will have snow for a couple days.
A few more pictures soon!

Baby it's **COLD** outside!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Tinsel, One Strand at a Time!

Remember the days of hanging tinsel,
one strand at a time?

I do!
With just the Christmas lights on the room glowed,
and the tinsel gently moving was magical.

Does anyone remember plugging in the lights and
getting a little pop because some tinsel was on the plug?!

Oh, my! Those were the days!!!
I still use tinsel each year!

My Grandchildren giggle but love it!
Have a BRIGHT & SHINY Day!

Letter To Santa!

I hope Santa got my letter!

This sweet Santa is 60+ years old.
I have a baby picture of my husband as a baby
crawling to it!
Hope your Holiday preparations
are coming together without a glitch!

Relief Society Women's Christmas Dinner!

Each year our church women's organization called
the Relief Society has it's annual Christmas party.
This year I hosted a table for 8 out of 60 sisters.

This is my table.
The center piece is the bleached trees I did about 3 years ago.
They are timeless.
Our theme was
"The Ten Virgins"

At each place setting throughout the hall these sweet oil lamps were placed.
The oil lamps were made in Egypt.

"In our lives the oil of preparedness is accumulated
drop by drop in righteous living".
~ Spencer W. Kimball
Above is the front of centerpiece.
One of my favorite trees I made is this tiny one
that fits in a salt shaker!
You can learn how to bleach these Christmas trees …
Above is the back of centerpiece.

I love how the silver water pitcher beaded up like frost!
It was a beautiful evening spent celebrating the birth of
and fellowshipping with the adorable sisters of my church!

Wishing You a Wonderful Holiday Season!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
