Sew Maryjane Pincushions!

I love sitting at my craft room table and
make these cute YoYo Pincushions!

I just added them all to my Etsy shop,

They are as big as my hand!
The base is lined for a wonderful quality.
They are filled with crushed walnut shells
that keep needles & pins sharp.
A bit of sunshine!
~
Customers love them!
Mixing the fabrics is loads of fun.
 Gotta love calicos!
Well, thank you so much for visiting!

Have a wonderful day!

A Quick Chick Update!

My little chicks are growing.
Their age range is 6 weeks, 5 weeks and 1 is 3 weeks.

They are a (gold) Buff Orphington,
3 (red) Rhode Island Red,
and a (black) Barred Rocks.
Myrtle, Daisy, Nellie, Emily & Kate.
The first 4 names are neighborhood womens names while growing up that I remember fondly.
They love eating out of my hand and
they sure can pinch my skin!

See, they still have some of their baby feathers.

I love my girls, well I hope they are all girls!
Sweet Kate is a gentle soul!
She lets me hold her often. Love being a chicken mama!

Have a wonderful day!

Lunch Bunch Chicks!

Since I have a new flock of chickens again,
I wanted to learn more about raising them.
I thought the perfect way to have a hands on approach is to start a hen club!
With that I started one up called the
Lunch Bunch Chicks!

We had our first official meeting last week.
I made some chicken journals for the ladies
so we can keep notes on all the things we share!
I have so many questions!
Of course we had to have lunch and
shopping is always involved!
We found some really darling things at

Anthropologie!

I have always wanted a ceramic egg carton.
I LOVE these measuring SPOONS!
The cute chicken timer we bought at Tom's Farms.
Can't wait for next month's Lunch Bunch Chicks meeting!

Chicks First Day Out to Play!

**A blogger asked if I really had green grass already?
Yes, here in Southern California I have it year round!

Daisy, Myrtle & Kate are growing!
They had their first day outside to play, and loved it!
I used our dog play~pen we use for camping to keep them safe.
I took the top off and turned it upside down! Perfect. Safe from hawks & crows.
They have been out each day for 2-3 hrs.

We have got to get the coop finished!
It will have a chicken run, so they will never fall into the pool.
These pictures were taken last week.
We now have added 2 more adorable chicks to the flock,
 Nellie & Emily.
They are all from the same brooder batch,
so they know each other and doing perfectly well together.
More pictures soon of all FIVE!

Thank you for visiting!

Meet My Baby Chicks!

Meet Daisy, Myrtle & Kate!
Our new little peeps!

They are a (gold) Buff Orphington,
a (red) Rhode Island Red,
and a (black) Barred Rocks.
I have raised chickens before and
have missed them. So with excitement I am a Chicken Mama again!
I looked on Pinterest about different kinds of homemade brooders.
Last time I used a huge box,
this time a playpen!

It is working out perfect!
My hubby added a wood bottom, covered in canvas. Perfect for deep cleaning.
I have them in one of our extra guest rooms. I put in a rocking chair and a cute, small electric fireplace! It's so cozy. I crochet and watch my girls every evening.
Here are my other chicks Grace & Flossie
We had 3 but Sadie ended up being a ROOSTER!
Here they are all grown up.
They were awesome hens!
These are some of the beautiful eggs they blessed us with each morning.
So looking forward to cooking & baking with fresh eggs again!
I love the quote from Tilly @ Tilly's Nest.
Her chicken blog is one of my favorites!
Now off to rock, crochet and watch my chicks grow!

Have a wonderful day!

Handmade Washer/Dryer Stand!

Isn't this washer/dryer stand awesome!

My son Nathan made this for his wife Stephanie for Christmas.
What a great gift!
He reminds me so much of his Dad with his skills. He can make anything!
Stephanie was pretty happy about this!

The 3 baskets are quite large and pull out easily. Perfect for sorting & folding.
Since he took these pictures, he has built some beautiful cabinets above.

Love a man (son) that can build anything!
I sale some wonderful lavender laundry dryer sachets,
in my Sew Maryjane Etsy Shop!
Here is the recipe to my laundry soap too!
