Tinsel, One Strand at a Time!

Remember the days of hanging tinsel,
one strand at a time?

I do!
With just the Christmas lights on the room glowed,
and the tinsel gently moving was magical.

Does anyone remember plugging in the lights and
getting a little pop because some tinsel was on the plug?!

Oh, my! Those were the days!!!
I still use tinsel each year!

My Grandchildren giggle but love it!
Have a BRIGHT & SHINY Day!

Yes, I remember tinsel and I was not allowed to put it on the tree. I sister had patience of an angel. She would put on strand at a time.

Yes, I remember tinsel, but had no patience for 1 strand at a time, so always needed a few more packages of it :)! What a job getting it off the little artificial trees. My mom loved it and we put it on for her little tree each year.
Your tree looks so lovely decorated with it!

I remember that tinsel well, and trees with similar shapes...before they were all trimmed to perfection. I used tinsel until my cats started eating it years sgo. Now my dog messes with it, so sadly no longer on my tree.

Great post!

Thanks for the memories..and the photos that could have been our tree growing up! I still love tinsel but after having a really bad experience with the cat eating it (don't ask), I just don't use it now.
I also remember "angel hair". My Mom loved it and it looked beautiful, however after getting a piece of it in her eye, that too was banned. lol
Merry Christmas blessings to you and your family.

OH how I remember those days of tinsel --- and then putting it gently away for next year! And your family photos are sooooooooo like mine! I make your laundry soap recipe and have used nothing else since. Your blog is such a joy to read and you 'almost' had me convinced I should be raising chickens but then looking around and seeing my TWO shih tzu dawgs brought me back to MY reality. I shall enjoy yours from afar! We are having a California Christmas - It has rained for over 24 hours.... WHERE IS MY SNOW? Love you lots! Kay

Oh Maryjane, Gary & I are such the 'Polar Opposites' when it comes to Tinsel... He is methodical, a 1-2 strand at a time over each branch... me, not so much,,, I am of the "toss it up in the air and let it fall where it may".. kinda gal! lol!
and that is why we have several trees each year, His, Mine & Ours! lol!
Merry Christmas,,,

I think I'm about the only person my age that didn't grow up with tinsel. My mom had these plastic icicles that glowed in the dark that she put all over our tree. We loved them! I remember taking one into the closet during the day so I could see it glow. lol! Definitely gives the tree a vintage feel. Merry Christmas!
hugs,
Jann

Fond memories of tree trimming and using tinsel. My Aunt MaryAlice was the best tinsel hanger---ever! Me, I seemed to get frustrated and start just tossing it on. Whew!
