When I was growing up, we had a huge front yard with a white picket fence surrounded by rose bushes of all colors. We had a small home and a big extended family, so when we entertained it was always outside in the front yard! We would bring our indoor furniture outdoors for all day. The only time we went into the house was to go potty! We LOVED being outdoors. We lived in California so we were able to enjoy many family gatherings throughout the year. Our home was the gathering place! Oh and the BBQ's and yummy food, me oh my! We even had Daddy's famous spaghetti dinners outside. That brought the whole family together. Ahhh, sweet memories.

Here are some wonderful ideas for outdoor fun! Just like the good ole' days!

Absolutely gorgeous. I love eating outside and I make sure it looks like an event. I put out a nice tablecloth and summer dishes I just love to make the outside pretty.
I love the sink! And the bales of hay chair, and all the tables. Reminds me of when I was a little girl...my grandma would make a house for me on her cloths line, then haul furniture out of her house to put in it. I would play out there all day long! Makes me excited for summer gatherings! :)
Oh i love to dine outdoors on real furniture!!! Such charming photos!!! Hugs,
Kris
I love every picture. Such pretty ideas. That planter is the cutest. My head is spinning with ideas for my little outdoor space.
I have always loved bringing my inside furniture outside. It gives a gathering a special atmosphere that outside patio furniture can't. I also love the look of mismatched chairs.
Found your beautiful blog from Julie and A Vintage Chic. Love all your outside inspiration.

I loved all these images of outdoor entertaining. We have large gatherings here in the garden too in the summers. And usually someone is riding the pony right through the middle of it. But it is so fun to eat out and visit the afternoon away.
I loved your sweet rememberings Maryjane.
Have a great week...
These are such pretty outdoor ideas. Love the one with the flowers in the box that looks like a sink!!

Those were all so amazing. I LOVED the hay bail couch thing. I could so totally do that with the bails of hay around my place. I totally want to do that for an outside get together.
I put dishes in my flower pots, but I also liked the ones in the bigger flower bed.

Absolutely love this web site. I did make your Buttermilk Pie and it was sooo delicious! Mustn't make it too often as it's addictive. Lol.
Your Button Willow travel trailer is adorable. Makes me want one, and to become a Sister On The Fly! Well, I can dream for now.
