Gracie & Flossie ~ 1 Year Old!

My sweet little hens, Gracie & Flossie have bought such joy into my life! It is so fun to be a keeper of hens. I love gathering their sweet eggs each day. They just keep on giving!
Many have asked how many eggs does a chicken lay in a day, the answer is 1. It doesn't take long tho to make a nice dozen to give as a gift! This dozen went to one of my daughters.
Here is a recent picture of the girls.
The girls are 1 year old this week!
A Barred Rock & a New Hampshire Red.
Large to extra large brown eggs.
I love baking with fresh eggs!
My hubby loves cooking up a nice breakfast using them!
How do you like your eggs?
I like mine scrabbled with some cheese and I always add some Cholula (mild hot sauce)!
~
Have a wonderful day!

Aren't they wonderful? I get three a day and my daughter gets a dozen every so often. I love my girls too and I can see how happy Flossie and Gracie are in their home. Have a great week.

We love our chickens and the eggs they supply us with also. I love my eggs scrambled, but add diced garden green pepper, onion and spinach.

I use to have hens.. I do miss getting my eggs for free.. but, our hen house was torn down and now we await a new one. I love the bright yellow, almost orange yoke!! They are delicious!!

I prefer scrambled. My husband has over easy and he's the hot sauce guy. Great looking eggs!

Your chickens are adorable! I LOVE that drawer the eggs were put in.

I used to eat eggs...but not anymore. We went vegan for health reasons. :)

They're pretty girls! We have five lovely fluffies, and get from three to five eggs every day now. It's so much fun watching them be happy together. Who knew such a simple thing as chickens could bring such joy?

Such pretty girls! I would dearly love to have my own, but too many predators around here. I love the drawer and the wicker chair. Your daughter is lucky to get such a sweet gift of fresh eggs. xx I love your blog... Have just discovered you.

And they have the BEST mom in the whole wide world. Who puts eggs in the prettiest PINK drawer with a crystal knob? Miss MJ does, that's who.
What great pics.
I actually made Randy some devilled eggs yesterday. I never make them, but he had a craving. He had a great big smile on his face.
Happy Tuesday my friend.
Love Claudie

Such sweet hens. I like my eggs over easy on a slice of toast. Sometimes I like them in a sandwhich scrambled with ketchup. Oh and hard boiled too. I think I like them all ways. 8)

I would love to have a couple of chickens and get fresh eggs. I don't think hubby would go for it.
FRESH eggs are the best.
Your photo of all those beautiful brown eggs was so pretty. And in that cute drawer.....neat idea.

I like my eggs easy over with lots of tobassco sauce.

It's such a joy to have them isn't it?! I love it too...my favorite way to eat the eggs in poached, love that! I also love a boiled egg, I love to slice one up on a piece of wheat bread, smear a bit of Miracle whip and top and eat up! ;D

Oh gosh, they are all absolutely adorable. Do you have a rooster to wake you up in the morning? I'm a little weird, I suppose, because I love that sound. Those eggs are just to pretty to eat. XOXOX
