Chick News!

An update on the chicks...they are growing! They are now 7 weeks old. Sweet, fun and a delight! 
Hubby is making the coop and wait till you see what this man is up to! A coop you have never seen before!

Homemade Living.

 This book I bought at the feed store when I bought the chicks.

 I read this book to them just before I tuck them in their coop each night! ;)

 I LOVE my Hunter rubber boots! They fit like a glove and I could wear them all day.

They are eating their 2nd stage of food now, just like a baby. Starter~Grow Crumbles...yummy! 

 I love that they eat out of my hand. They went crazy when I fed them worms from the feed store. It was candy to them!

 

Peek~a~Boo!

 I took this picture peeking through a window in their temporary coop. They sleep with a red heat lamp. The temperature needs to be between 75-80 degrees at their age now. I am such a good Mommy! :)

YES, I did buy this chicken purse and should be getting it this week! LOL!

What Are You Doing Today?

What are you doing today? I am in my craft room doing a special order for 5 sewing journals. I cannot show them because the order is for a darling fabric/pattern designer and this fabric line is not reveled yet! They are so cute & bright!  Fun, fun!

Guess what? This coming December we will have another blessing coming our way, our 13th grandbaby! Our 12th was born just last week! In December we will have a BAKER'S DOZEN! 
 Oh it is so wonderful being a Grandmother!

Ready for Easter!

This Easter Sunday we will be spending the day with family at our daughter Heidi's house! We are looking forward to this day with family and a time to remember our Savior Jesus Christ and for His atoning sacrifice.

I decided to set my dining table for hubby and I for the week anyway. I took all the leaves out of the table to make it more quaint. Sweet & cozy.

Easy Caramel Popcorn!

 This is a very easy recipe for a fast way to make Caramel Popcorn!
Just 3 ingredients! 

I pop my own popcorn in a big pot on the stove. I add popcorn kernels to cover the bottom of the pot then add canola oil halfway up to the kernels. I cook it on med/high until it's all popped. I do not shake, I just let it pop away! When done stir and add a little sea salt.   
The best homemade popcorn ev~er! We love it just like this too! You can also use microwave popcorn or air popped.

Chick News!

I am in Love! Our little chicks are 2 weeks old today and they are growing fast! For sometime now, I have wanted a little brood of chickens for fresh organic eggs. Last week I decided to go for it! I talked with chicken owners, did some research on the Internet and bought a great book on raising backyard chickens! I am so excited. They live in a large box with a heat lamp in the house until they are old enough to go into a coop.

This weekend they had their first day out on the grass! They loved it!  
Sweet granddaughter Hailey came to help. She is becoming a true blue farm girl!

I named the chicks after my grandmother and 2 of her sisters, plus 7 more siblings who grew up on a farm in Missouri. xox
