Do you have a little place on earth where you can relax and forget your cares for a moment?
~
Remember the song "Up on the Roof " by the Drifters? (It's on my Playlist at the very bottom of this page #3). I LOVE that song...it just warms my heart and makes me smile. This is my place where hubby & I sit each evening in our backyard courtyard. It is horseshoe shape. The courtyard can be seen from the kitchen/family room, living room and master bedroom. A cozy setting. I go out many times during the day to eat a apple, ponder and watch the chickens to the far right of the yard. I rock to my hearts content!

In the afternoon a ocean breeze comes through that is heavenly.

It's a time to...
and enjoy nature at it's best!
Can you see my tiny Maltese Samatha in this picture?
She is hidding!

Now time to share a cute idea...
Daughter Shelli made this for her Daddy on Father's Day!
This idea can be used anytime of the year.
Hubby shared because he knows I love Cream Soda!

Nothing like rocking, feeling the breeze and the sun on your face!
Love the "nuts" and "pop" idea.
Wish I could join you in the other rocking chair and share a cup of tea.

Oh the gift is so cute and a brillant idea!
I love those white rockers. They are in the airport in NC...and I always love to sit there while waiting for my next plane.
Now go and smell some more of those roses!!
I have a wonderful front porch overlooking the (dry, but tree lined) river right now. And I just love it! I hope after my move, I'll have such a wonderful place to just sit and feel the breeze on my face! Your relaxation spot looks lovely!
Nothing like a special spot to rock in and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. Love the gift to POP from his daughter. Is that perfect, or what? xo Diana
What a beautiful place to sit!

Hi Mary Jane
We have the same rocking chairs, but no breezes in sight around here! I am having my summer porch party tomorrow. Hope you can stop by to visit!
Hugs, Rhondi
I like your white rockers but I love your pool! Wish we could have one but it's not practical here.
Such a beautiful setting...divine in fact! Cute gift for Father's Day, I bet he loved it.
What a GREAT place to sit and relax and enjoy life. Cute Father's Day present too. Joni
Maryjane, Your backyard is gorgeous. I would spend alot of time in those rockers, too. It all looks beautiful.
I think I could sit in a rocking chair all day long and just while the hours away. Such a lovely place to relax. Have a great week. Tammy
What a lovely place to relax. I love that song too. I live on Lake Superior and so enjoy just drifting away with the waves at times. We all need a place of quiet relaxation!! Cute Father's Day idea!
You have a very relaxing, pretty spot don't you. How nice to just rock and watch chickens peck around in the dirt.
What a great gift idea, very special! I will remember that one.
Hugs, Cindy
cool - cool idea - wish I saw this before Father's Day I would of had fun giving that to my day but wait I can do it any day -- right! Super fun idea.. thanks and hugs
Now that is life sitting on rocking chairs and enjoying everything around you. The photos are wonderful!
Wished I was closer I would come rock with ya Maryjane. You have a wonderful place to relax. I have a
back porch I sit and swing and relax. The only problem is it has been 104 degrees here. Love the nuts and rootbeer,
cute idea, I don't know if that would work down South because the
kids down here call their father's
daddy, or dad and the rootbeer would be just rootbeer. I just thought of something Maryjane that gift would work with "Dad's" rootbeer, thanks for sharing.
What a cozy spot to enjoy your yard and pool. Cute idea for Father's day or any celebration if you just change up the wording.
Hi! I just had to tell you how I LOVE your blog! If I had a blog it would be like yours. I love so many of the same things you do. Keep up the good work!
Blessings,
Kay from Oregon Coast :)
Oh That is so darn cute! I love it! I'll be saving that idea for down the road. :)
Your back yard is beautiful. We won't be considering ours paradise for another 4 months probably. :P 108 today!
I hope you are having a great week!

Hi - I have never done this blogging before. Actually, if Maryjane is reading this what I am wanting to know is where you got your Clothesline Fresh sign for your laundry room. I love it and would like one for my laundry room.
Thanks....!!! P.S: I love all your pictures - or should I say I love you style. Is is very inspiring to me. Thanks again.
Hello Peggy!
I have searched for the lady I bought the sign from. She didn't heave here business on the back of the sign except for her name, Deb. I bought it last year online. Cute country shop. She has a blog also and may be on my sidebar.
If I find her, I will write it here in the comments!
Thank you!
Maryjane
Hi Maryjane,
This is such a cute idea for Father's Day! Love it!
Debbie
Your hydrangeas are gorgeous! All the rockers need is a couple of fat seat cushions and you'd never budge! Hope the Summer is being good to you.

Cute gift idea! Isn't this a great season in our lives? Time to just relax with your honey in our empty nests! I've been BUSY with a new grandgirl in the NICU and her big brother visiting with us. Looking forward to some time to "smell the roses" soon. Mimi
If I lived at your house I would have my morning coffee in those chairs and return for my evening "sunset sit" as well.
I was on a walk in my Chicago neighborhood yesterday and saw these same two rockers on a front porch. I was instantly drawn to them.
Fondly,
Glenda
Ohhhhhhh I loved seeing little Samantha peeking out from behind the flower pot!! Precious.
