Kelly from "Rose Vine Cottage Two" Trailer!

My darling long~time blogger friend Kelly from Rose Vine Cottage Two and I have something more in common then loving pink and everything pretty! We share the love for vintage trailers and each own one! Her trailer year is 1976 and is 18 ft. long. She has 5 feet over me! She has created a home away from home...sweet, warm, cozy, pretty and pink! It is the family trailer and the boys don't mind camping in style!
CLICK on this post TITLE and it will lead you right to her! She has lots more pictures to share and you will love her blog and home to! She has a big following, so many of you know her already!

Oh my, I am AGAIN feeling a change for my little 13 ft. trailer! I know, I know, I just changed it but with such a tiny trailer it won't cost much and I can use lots of "pretty & pink" from my home! Are you gasping yet?
I can smell cupcakes baking in her oven!
I don't think I would spend much time outside!
Her darling "Powder Room" "It's 11 a.m. already? Oh dear, I slept in! Brunch for the boys!
Now where are my pink fluffy slippers?"
Kelly, thank you for letting me share your sugar pie trailer! xox

"Poor Man's Meal" ~ Depression Era

My Mother use to cook this when I growing up and my children grew up on it to! Some of my children make it for theirs. I know my grandchildren love it. In my days growing up, they would call this kind of meal, a "poor man's meal", like potato soup, which I love to! My parents grew up in the Depression Era so that is where the phrase "poor man's meal" came from.
We now call this meal "Potatoes & Hot Dogs"!
Simple, good and a 1 pan meal!

**I use 1 package of Nathan koshered hot dogs because they are spiced up nice.
Dice the hot dogs, some potatoes and a 1/2 onion.
Oil pan with olive oil or canola oil and add mixture.
Sprinkle garlic salt & pepper to taste.
Cook until golden brown. Put a dash of ketchup or Cholula for added flavor!

For dessert, make a easy Buttermilk Pie! Dreamy, creamy!
Recipe on my sidebar.

Comfort food at it's best!

Mom's Vintage Egg Poacher

Do you sometimes like breakfast for dinner? We sure do! I LOVE using my Mother-in-laws tiny egg poacher we inherited! It brings back fond memories for hubby. I am sure it is from the 1940's and in perfect condition. It's the little things that make life sweet... Bake your bacon! Less grease.
Line a jelly roll pan with foil.
Place a cookie rack over foil.
Line the bacon on the rack.
Cook at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
All ovens vary, so keep an eye on it!
***You can sprinkle a little brown sugar over the bacon for a yummy twist!***

Do you have a piggy cutting board to?!
Doesn't breakfast sound good for dinner tonight?

Kindness

Sweet blogger Bethany at Vintage Bluebird read a recent post that I wasn't feeling my best (fighting a bad kidney infection for weeks). With that, she went to work embroidering this dArLiNg tea towel of my vintage trailer Button Willow! The perfect colors for my new "redo" in my trailer! Such a sweet gesture of kindness and compassion for others.
Thank you so much Bethany! xox She even put the name of my trailer on it!

A sweet handmade card!
Don't you just love sweetness in the mail?!

Have a wonderful weekend!

My Blog in Print!

My little blog made it in print once more, this time in a book! Irene Rawlings is a well known author, radio host, writes for many magazines and the NY Times. She now wrote a book about Sisters On The Fly. The book is filled with lots of darling pictures of trailers that I know you will love! I know many of these women and have been in their little trailers!
I was excited that my blog THE BEEHIVE COTTAGE was mentioned in the book, along with other blogger friends!

Our little trailers are our "home away from home" and many of us use them at home! There are more listed like the Farm Chicks, MaryJane's Farm, Pioneer Women, etc.
~
We even take the kitchen sink!

No two of our trailers are alike!
You can buy the book on Amazon.com or any book store will order one for you!
