Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and prepare the ingredients. Pat in a 9" x 13" pan and bake. When cooled, cut into desired size squares. I have even used a heart cookie cutter to make heart shaped cookies. Makes several yummy & chewy bar cookies in one baking! Great for when the family says "come on over!" You can go with a plateful of bar cookies!

Those look fabulous, Maryjane! That's my favorite thing to do when I'm in a hurry, or just too lazy to do pan after pan of "regular" cookies!
Hope you're having a beautiful day!
Can you believe I have never done this? And chocolate chip cookies are my specialty!
Why? Why have I not done this? You make them look so wonderful!
MaryJane, you always make me hungry. Thanks for sharing such great ideas.
ONE WORD is all that is need for this post... YUM!!!
OMG .... YUM !
My Mom used to bake her chocolate chip cookies the same way. We loved them as bar cookies - I think they are even better that way.

With posts like that, you are NOT helping my attempts to lose a few pounds before swimsuit season. You know that, don't you. ;)

Hi MaryJane!
I found your wonderful blog after visiting with Angela over at Parisienne Farmgirl. I'm so happy I did! Your place is beautiful! I look forward to wandering through your posts.
The vintage trailer looks like so much fun. Now THAT'S a "play house" I could get used to :)
Beautiful family, beautiful blog. Very nice to "meet" you.

Oh dear! I should not have looked at this before I ate breakfast. Now I want chocolate chip cookie bars for breakfast.
When my husband and I got married nearly 20 years ago our favors were chocolate chip cookie bars we used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out. They looked so pretty all nestled together in their basket with their blue ribbons on them.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi again Maryjane...my Mom used to do this with her recipe of chocolate chip cookies and freeze them and then wrap individually for all of our lunches (10 in all!).
She would also make several batches before camping...so we could enjoy them there as well.
Mom called them "congo squares".
Yummy...
