I LOVE the movie ~ Julie & Julia!

Oh my goodness! I just got back from seeing the darling movie "Julie & Julia"!!!! A must see! A TRUE STORY! It is about a young woman who needed to fill a void in her life so she starting BLOGGING about cooking...she cooked/made every single recipe in Julia Child's Cookbook! It took her a year to do so. The movie is about that year and flashbacks of Julia Child's life as an adult!
I LOVE the movie!
Meryl Streep & Amy Adams do a wonderful job! You almost believe Meryl is Julia!
~
Here is the website to Julie Powell's current blog.

I was so excited the movie was about blogging & cooking...
Now off to put my PEARLS on! xox

Bon Appetit!

Hi Maryjane. I have always loved Julia Childs and I so want to go see this movie. However, the small towns surrounding our area are not showing it. I guess the theaters think it won't make as much money as Funny People and such. A town about 70 miles away is the only one that has it showing. And we usually don't travel that far just to go see a movie. But there is always chines take out and a rental later! Right? {: I have visited Julie's blog when I first heard about her and the movie. Such a wonderful story! Have a wonderful weekend, blessings,Kathleen

Hmm, I've been wondering if it is good. The last movie I saw was "Mama Mia" LAST summer. Maybe this could be this year's movie for me!

I'm so glad you gave your movie rating on this one...I have been So looking forward to seeing this. But you know sometimes you build things up before you go, and then the disappointment comes. But happy to see, that this movie was what a appears to be! I'm going with my daughter Tuesday - free popcorn day, here at our theater.

Don't know how soon I'll be able to see the movie, but I did see the real "Blogger Julia" on an episode of Iron Chef (USA) and she was one of the judges. I was astounded when the show announced that "Blogger Julia" made every recipe from a Julia Childs cookbook! What drive and ambition! Personally, I gave my Julia Childs cookbook to my daughter because my style is more along the lines of Rachel Ray :)

I just hope it gets to us in the hinterlands -smile-. I've been reading her blog for a long while now and was curious if the movie did both Julie and Julia justice. The reviews are excellent so hope to see it in theater but will probably have to wait for DVD...sigh.

One more thing: I just really enjoyed looking through your blog today! You have a whole array of things to look at! I love your vintage trailer too - we used to have a vintage tent trailer that I painted a fishing scene on the frig (the painting is of Kernville, Ca.) And we are in the process of "vintageing" our current trailer! Anyway, I love all your cute stuff - a very pretty blog!
