Tea Party Gloves...

Miss Hailey's Gloves
~Her Mommy's 1990 Prom gloves! I attended my Granddaughter Hailey's 7th Birthday Tea Party yesterday. Oh what fun! Do you like Hailey's ring choice? I took lots of pictures that I will post this week! Sweet emotions overwhelmed me, remembering Tea Parties I had with my own Daughters and some I had with my Mother and Sisters not to many years ago that I will cherish in my heart forever!

Silly me! I posted my comment, without my comment. With only my name. ,-)

So, to begin again... I can almost feel your mother's gloves. I "know" the look of them. Thank you for a memory.

And will you please tell Hailey that I simply lovvvvve her pink fashion ring. It looks exactly like what a 7 year old, would choose. And this 71 year old would love to wear it, also! :-)))

Oh, what lovely gloves your mother had. Love the plain black gloves and the cocktail ring! FABULOUS!!!

I miss my mother too. There's been many times since she passed away more than a decade ago, that I could have used her calm, practical voice, telling me what direction to take. As for gloves, we need to revive that once de rigeur accessory. So much prettier and more practical than the plethora of overpriced, "anti-ageing" hand creams!

Granchildren can bring back precious memories of our own childhood and that of our own children.

My mother has been gone just a year - yesterday, thoughts of her brought tears...I miss my mother also.

I have tea parties for my daughter for her birthday parties. She loves it and the kids can't believe that I let them eat off those cute litte antique party plates. I always get out my great grand mother's punch bowl. We eat in the dining room with the tablecloth that is white. The girls are just amazed at it all. It makes them feel special and I'm sure that they will always remember my parties! lol Usually when you invite children to your house for a party not many will come. Every girl that my daughter invited to her 11th bdp came! I had 10 girls thinking only 3 or 4 would come.
What good memories those are!
Take care,
Angela

The gloves are beautiful. I remember when we wore gloves to church every Sunday. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Aren't daughters (and grand daughters) the best? Lots of fun. Maybe we should bring back the hat and gloves fashion. My mom and grandma had some of the best. Mimi

Oh, Miss MaryJane....
I was already thinking (before I got here, today) how nice it would be to have a mother like you. You speak so sweetly to me just like I've longed for all of my life...
Then I come here and read this sweet post. What a blessed family you have! How blessed are your daughters and grand-daughters to have you to call their own!
Many Blessings and Sweet Tea Parties yet to come,
Julie

Tea parties are such fun. My daughters surprised me with one for my birthday in September. There were fresh beautiful sunflowers, tea sandwiches, cookies and delicious teas. To make sure that I didn't spoil the surprise they arranged for my friend, Penny, to take me shopping at our favorite quilt stores. Such a wonderful day and so many memories. Thanks for sharing yours, especially the beautiful gloves and Hailey's ring.

Hugs,

Sue

Thanks for taking such darling pics of Hailey's hands with her gloves. Funny to think that I wore those black gloves to Prom my Sophomore year... in 1990! Wish I had the ring back then too! =) xo
