Do you wear an apron?
I do each day & I have several! Some vintage, some new but all loved! I have fond memories of my sweet mother & grandmothers wearing their aprons! It just gives me a warm & cozy feeling wearing my aprons! XO

My sweet friend Bev sews these DARLING boutique quality aprons!
YES, I am the proud owner of one!
Bev's talents are endless and she is creating a new apron almost everyday now since she started sewing these detailed precious aprons.

I just bought this cookbook at the grocery store and wanted to share it with you! It is written in the form of a 1950's cookbook, and YES it's darling!
(I paid $18 at the grocery store but you can find it for less if you click on the lettering below!)
Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food, by Jessica Seinfield (HarperCollins), lives up to its name by providing nutritious recipes that are yummy to the tummy. In this user-friendly cookbook, you will find traditional favorites like chicken nuggets, tacos, spaghetti, pancakes, and chocolate cake - all with a unique twist: pureed veggies. But before you wrinkle your nose at the thought of taking a sip of cauliflower juice, take comfort in knowing you can’t actually taste the veggies. See where the deception comes in? And the different purees add a little extra (unidentified) zip to the recipes making them delicious. I am excited to use this cookbook on my grandchildren and I know my sweet hubby won't mind either!

Daughters Shelli, Heidi, Tiffani & Stephanie, if you want this cookbook, let me know! XO

The Clothesline...

Oh, how I remember when growing up, the wonderful big clothesline we had! I think we were the last on the block to buy a clothes dryer! I remember when the rains came pouring down, we ran outside to get the clothes off the line and what a site to see and hear the clothespins "snapping" off the line into the air! How we giggled when it was happening!

What memories do you have of a clothesline and do you still use one?

I hope to have a new clothesline by the end of summer...
ahhh, the fresh smell of sun kissed laundry!

THE CLOTHESLINE

A clothesline was a news forecast
To neighbors passing by.
There were no secrets you could keep
When clothes were hung to dry.

What would summer be like without Strawberries? You just know it is summer when strawberries are in abundance! I received a sweet jar of "Farm Fresh Strawberry Jam" from my dear friend Bev at Bee Haven Acres! The jar looks so pretty in my pantry!
~
Do you preserve your own Strawberries or have a memory of Mother or Grandmother canning Strawberries
on a hot summer day?
REFRIGERATOR STRAWBERRY JAM

2 c. (1 pt.) strawberries washed and hulled
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 tsp. powdered fruit pectin

Slice strawberries into 2-quart bowl. Mash well. Stir in sugar and pectin thoroughly. Microwave 4 minutes on high, or until mixture comes to a full rolling boil.
Reduce setting. Microwave 5 or 6 minutes until mixture is slightly thickened. It will thicken more as it cools. Store tightly covered in a glass jar in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Yummy on vanilla ice cream! XO

Window Box & Barrel Planting

Here are some pictures I took of wonderful ideas for window box & barrel planting when I was in McCall, Idaho. I use barrels in my backyard and have umbrella's in each one around the pool.
I just love this rustic look for outdoors! XO

Memories of Summer...

I LOVE Snow Cones!
What was your favorite ice cream?

The Good Humor Truck!

"I scream, you scream,
we all scream for ICE CREAM!"
~
Do you remember hearing the sound of bells chiming coming down your street from the Good Humor truck? Remember how excited we got and ran to Mother for some change from her coin purse? "Hurry, hurry Mommy", sometimes almost wetting my pants with excitement!!! And if you were lucky enough he parked in front of your house and the kids all came a run'in! Then that long awaited first bite of your
favorite ice cream was always the best!
Ah, those were the days my friend!
~
It all started in 1920. Henry B. Burt, the founder took the name from the saying
"To please a man's palate,
put him in good humor"
