Hydrangea:shrub
with clusters of white or tinted blooms.

These flowers remind me of both of my
Grandmother's!

Yesterday, I bought my first Hydrangea plant and took this picture. I will plant it in a big clay
pot for now so I can enjoy it in the patio area of our backyard. Can't wait for more blooms of clusters!

Cake & Cupcakes...Yum!

I am ready for my Tea Party!
Would you like to join me? Don't these goodies look delicious? Look very close now.......they are made out of
vintage chenille! Aren't they the cutest! I bought them on Etsy by "Ivyhill". I will be able to enjoy these for years to come. The bad thing is, every time I look at them I crave cake with lots of frosting!
What is a girl to do? xo

Roses!

I went to visit my dear neighbor Beckie a few days ago and as always, she sent me home with some huge pretty Roses from her garden. Her yard is in full bloom and smells wonderful! I wasn't her only visitor, the bee's were buzzing all about during our visit together. I LOVE her idea of putting the Roses in a mason wide mouth canning jar! Such a sweet touch! xo

Aprons, Cookbooks & My Mother's BURNING BRA!

Caption for an article in Romantic Homes under the entertaining section:
~
The hostess with the mostest is cooking up with some style.
Broken from the shackles of feminism, she's learned that cute aprons are a better look then a burned bra.
~
I love this quote!!!
~

As usual I found myself in front of the magazine rack at the grocery store! My favorite part of the store may I add! Any-hoo I found the latest issue of Romantic Homes and brought it home. To my joy I found an article on aprons & cookbooks and I was excited to see a cookbook I have. I won it at a Give-a-Way by Janice-Miss Bee Haven over at MaryJane's Farm.
~
I love this "picture" cookbook!
~
~A MUST READ! My true story...funny!
~
Now I have to tell you about My Mother & her burning Bra! I was about 10 years old when this happened. It was winter time and the rain was coming down so we couldn't hang our cloths out on the clothesline. My Mother had washed her bra and she needed it to dry fast so she put it in the oven (mind you!) at a low temperature. A few minutes later we smelled smoke and sure enough her bra was on fire! Daddy grab the broom and hoisted that burning bra out of the oven and ran through the house to the front door! The screen door flung open and out went the huge fireball! Watching Daddy throw it from the porch was hysterical! There on our front lawn laid Mommy's burning bra and all 5 of us kids, Mommy & Daddy laughing to the top of our lungs!!!
I think my Mother was the first one ever to burn a bra in the 1960's!!!

This is the beautiful china that was My Mother Gloria's. It was handed down to her from her Mother Alberta. I have fond memories of eating off this china for MANY years into my adulthood. Thanksgiving dinners always tasted better on Mother's china! All the crystal pieces were purple! The table always looked gorgeous! My sweet Mother has since passed away so each time I look at this china I know she is looking down and saying "Forget Me Not".
I shall never forget you Mother Dear. xo

A Favorite Place to Visit...

Here in Old Town Temecula, CA you will find one of my favorite places to visit...I can and have spent hours looking in every nook and cranny of this quint store! Fabulous fabrics and a large selection. I love all the vintage-looking fabric of yesteryear. A sweet group of ladies have asked me to join their Quilting Bee. How wonderful! They meet upstairs every other Thursday. Some sew on their darling vintage Singer Lightweights! I have been offered to buy one they just happen to have...I think I just might HAVE to!
After all the buying of fabric, here is a cozy little place to catch your breathe before loading all your goods in the car!!!

Pincushion, Dishcloth & Pillowcase

This is the little Gift Set that I gave to the gals that won my Give-Away.
I had lots of fun making the pincushion, crocheted dishcloths & pillowcase
The pincushion is filled with "children's play sand" that I bought at Lowe's.
The sand works perfect and keeps the pins in place.

Thanks for visiting & have a wonderful day!

My Favorite Author ~ MaryJane Butters

I love MaryJane Butters! Her books & magazines are simply wonderful! I have learned so much from this sweet woman. I recently learned how to crochet, which I am thrilled to have finally learned. She is a True Blue Farmgirl and she has shared many ideas I can use in my daily life for this "want'a-be Farmgirl"! Ideas from the Kitchen, Garden, Stitching Room, Cleaning Up, Outdoors and much more. A lot of MaryJane Butters teachings are that of our Mothers, Grandmothers and Great Grandmothers. Basic skills that bring back memories that warm the heart and have been tested and proven over the years! The simplicity of life is bliss!
P.S. Oh and YES I love wearing all my pretty aprons each day!

I learned to Crochet this year!

I have always wanted to learn how to crochet and had a strong desire to do so! I bought one of the greatest books "MaryJane's Stitching Room" by MaryJane Butters. There in her book she taught me how to crochet! It took me a couple months to get the hang of it but finally I did and now I can't put my crochet hook down! I have always wanted to crochet dishcloths and I am very content if that is all I do! Crocheting is very relaxing and rewarding. I giggle each time I pick up my yarn & hook and think "I am crocheting!"
~
I keep my yarn and supplies in this cute jean purse that I embellished with
yo-yo's and beads.

Giggle, giggle!
