Beehive Cottage~Lyndhurst, Great Britain

"A House is a Home Where Love Dwells"

I did not know another house was named Beehive Cottage! I just found this online in Great Britain. I just love it!

Many years ago we built our dream home and raised our family in it. While we were pouring the foundation I slipped a poem my daughter Heidi wrote in the corner of the cement and proclaimed our home to be called The Beehive Cottage. We moved from that home 2 1/2 years ago to get closer to our loved ones. This home we now have has been named The Beehive Cottage also and the name fits perfect.

Heart Charm

When I was a teenager in the late 60's we wore charm bracelets. I still have the one I wore, filled with memories that bring me back in time. Here is a heart charm from The Vintage Heart on eBay. I think I need this one to add to my collection!

My New Apron!

I LOVE this pink vintage apron I bought on Etsy! It is sweet & in perfect condition. From Isabella's Closet. I love that aprons are back in style! I have fond memories of my Mother & Grandmothers wearing aprons. I have a nice collection of them now that I will be posting as time goes by. One of my sweet Granddaughters always puts on her special little apron when she comes to visit and makes sure I am wearing one to!

Strawberry Rain & Garden Boots!

As you can see I am having fun with all the spring things coming out! Aren't these the cutest rain & garden boots ever?! Target, yes at Target!

Did I mention my nickname is Strawberry? My Uncle Bob named me that when I was 4 years old because I blushed all the time.

Can't be Soap!

YES, this is handmade soap! Yum! This picture made me crave a sweet! I will be back, off to the kitchen! Find them on eBay at the Country Cottage by Linda.

New Camera!

I am so excited! I am getting a new camera! I have been using my husbands. Went to Best Buy and fell in love with this one. It does everything I dreamed of. They didn't have any PINK so I came home and ordered it on line!
This pretty plate belonged to my sweet mother-in-law. I think of her each time I pass by it, which is everyday! xo
What a cute garden jacket! Spring is diffidently here. It's a Rosie B. Farmer's Garden Jacket from Inspire Co.

Fresh Strawberries!

I am holding a fresh Strawberry from a local farmer! The best kind! Strawberry pie, anyone?

Wash Day

Today is wash day for me! I actually love doing
the laundry! I add 1/2 cup of vinegar &
1/2 cup Borax to the wash. Cloths come out brighter and sweeter!

Bird Nest Rice Krispie Treats

I made these little bird nests for our Easter family gathering! They were fast and easy. I formed the nest in a cupcake pan. While they were still slightly soft, I took them out of the cupcake pan and made them flatter, keeping them bowl shaped. Fill with candy speckled eggs and enjoy!
Rice Krispie Treats
1/4 cup margarine or butter
40 large marshmallows or 4 cups mini's
6 cups Rice Krispie Cereal
Melt margarine in a saucepan. Add marshmallows & stir until melted. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies. Stir well. Form your bird nest!
makes 20+ nests

The Easiest Way to Hard Boiled Eggs!

1. Put eggs in a heavy sauce pan.
2. Cover with water & add 1 teaspoon salt.
3. Bring to a hard boil.
4. Turn off flame.
5. Cover & let set 1/2 hour or more.

**They come out just right every time and they peel easily.

Spring Has Sprung!

Families Are Forever

This crossstitch is hanging in my living room. It is the focal point of the room and also in my life. I love my family and all the joy they bring into my life! This Easter season brings back fond memories of my childhood. For those who remember the 50's & 60's, didn't you love wearing a Easter bonnet and white gloves! And those pretty slips we wore under our dresses that were so crisp! I loved my slip! My Grandmother's Sadie & Alberta made the sweetest Easter dresses for my sisters and I. Grandmother Alberta never used anything other then her Singer treadle sewing machine that I now have! Enjoy your Easter with family and make wonderful memories to cherish forever! xo

Friends...

Today I visited with my dear friend Narvie who has ovarian cancer. She has struggled with it for three years now. Her cancer is fierce but she is a fighter! We sat in her warm & cozy bedroom today with a nice fire glowing and her tucked under the covers. Our visits are always wonderful and last usually for a couple hours. We laugh and cry as the hours pass. She is a very positive woman and I am always uplifted when I leave her home. I cherish our time together and can't wait to visit with her again...

My Favorite...

"Simply Friends" here in my hometown, is my favorite little antique store! The store is actually a tiny house from the early 1900's, located in Historical Downtown Murrieta. I love going in there rain or shine because Sisters Renee & Debi always make my day brighter and I always find something wonderful to take home!

Tea Towel Swap

At MaryJane's Farm (MaryJanesFarm.com) we had a tea towel swap! Cheryl, Farmgirl Sister #48 made this darling set for me! Isn't her work beautiful! Click on the picture to see her detailed stitching. Thanks Bunches Cheryl!

Sweet Peas & Hailey

This is my first post and I am so thrilled to do so! Today I had a lovely surprise left on my front porch, a armful of Sweet Peas from my darling friend Beckie who lives around the corner! She found my watering can by the door to put the flowers in! What a dear!

Granddaughter Hailey who is 6, spent the night here last night. We had fun sewing, crocheting (she did the chain stitch!) and we watched movies! She had fun making me "pretty". Ahhhhh Grandchildren.
