My little heart be still! This was my FIRST time ever making Cinnamon Rolls! When hubby got home, (crossing my fingers behind my back) I told him our neighbor brought them over! She is a professional pastry baker! I popped a bite in his mouth and guess what, he said he loved it! My goodness, was he surprised when I told him I really made them!
I will be making batches of these EASY cinnamon rolls up for the holidays!
A little secret girls, they are made with Frozen Bread Dough...
"semi-homemade"!

EASY Cinnamon Rolls
1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed ( I use the brand Rhodes)
2 tablespoons melted butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup heavy cream
2/3 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon milk
dash vanilla
PREPARATION:
Roll dough to a rectangle, about 8x6 inches. Brush with the melted butter. Combine brown sugar, chopped nuts, and cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. Starting at long edge, roll up, jelly roll fashion;
moisten edges and seal.
Cut roll into 20 slices. Place rolls, cut side down, into two 8 inch lightly buttered round cake pan(s). Let rise for about 1 1/2 hours, until doubled. Pour the cream over the rolls then bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Combine confectioners' sugar , milk, and vanilla, adding more sugar or milk if necessary
( I double this part!) Drizzle over rolls while slightly warm.
Makes 20 YUMMY cinnamon rolls!
XO

Oh my goodness, Maryjane, you are a VERY bad influence. I'm trying to stick to my Jenny Craig diet. Not sure if it's the rolls or the gorgeous place settings but the two combined make this irresistible.

Answer to Rechelle's question:

I use RHODES frozen white bread. It comes in a package of four loaves...which all together would make 80 YUMMY cinnamon rolls!!!

A cool and yummy tip for the filling is to put the butter, sugar, and cinnamon (opt. nuts but if you do you get a nutter y taste) in a small sauce pan and mix till the butter is melted and it is combined well then pour spread over dough... it does something really good to the filling. not sure how it does it, but I have been making cinnamon rolls since I learned to cook in my teens and I can tell a huge difference... just thought I would share that hint... and wow those look good and I am making some tomorrow!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!

Hi Maryjane,

I loved your pictures and your instructions for making this wonderful recipe. I've been looking for an "easy" recipe since I'm afraid of trying recipes with yeast!

Our church (which if financially strapped like most churches thess days) is having a Holiday Boutique on November 22 and I think I'll make these to serve with hot chocolate that morning for the shoppers. The church kitchen is right next to the hall where the boutique is and the smell should be yummy and hopefully everyone will get into the holiday spirit.

Thanks for sharing!

Hugs,

Sue

I will definitely try these out, but of course I'll announce that they were baked from scratch. A little white lie, but I can be forgiven for that seeing as I have the reputation for being an abysmal baker and even worse cook. Thanks!!!
